CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Identifies educational needs of business members and employees, develops and implements regular educational forums that meet those needs and provides benefit to all members of the Chamber.
EXPO
One of the major revenue generators for the Chamber. Creates and implements an annual event that showcases member products and services to other members. Also provides a community outreach opportunity for the Chamber to the general population. Also serves as a membership recruitment activity by offering participation opportunities to non-member businesses.
GOLF OUTING
One of the major revenue generators for the Chamber. Coordinates and organizes the annual golf outing which provides fellowship and networking opportunities for members and prospective members.
GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS/ECOMOMIC DEVELOPMENT
This new committee will help to build and foster relationships between all the Villages we serve by attending Village meetings and identifying public policies and economic development issues appropriate for the Chamber’s involvement.
INTERNAL AUDIT
Reviews the finances, procedures and controls of the Chamber and provides a written report to the Board of Directors stating its findings. Will consist of three members, at least two of which shall be members of the Board of Directors. Nom member of the audit committee shall have check signing authority.
MEMBERSHIP
Committee members will serve as Ambassadors to the Chamber. Responsibilities of Ambassadors will include representing the Chamber in a positive and beneficial manner to new and prospective members. Ambassadors will also assist with maintaining regular communications with Chamber members encouraging involvement and participation in Chamber events. A sub-committee of the Membership Committee will coordinate and oversee member promotion and networking activities such as but not limited to: Grand Openings, Ribbon Cuttings, Open Houses, Business After Hours, and Membership Meetings.
TASTE OF THE TOWNS
One of the major revenue generators for the Chamber. A community outreach event which provides fellowship and marketing opportunities for Chamber members while showcasing food and beverage outlets.
RETAIL COMMITTEE
Formerly known as the Commercial Committee. Serves as a broad based forum for the retail based business members of the Chamber, providing events and forums for the free exchange of ideas on how to better serve the needs of the business community. Also oversees events such as Sidewalk Sale Days, Farmers Market, and co-op advertising opportunities geared toward increasing business for retail based members.
SCHOLARSHIP
Coordinates fundraising event(s) to fund scholarships given to graduating high school seniors. Also oversees the development and distribution of application forms and reviewing, selection and awarding of scholarship applicants.
SCHOOL MENTORING
Responsible for fostering a working relationship with the Community Unit School District 95, helping to identify needs and creating programs to meet those needs. Serves on the Career Advisory Council serving to develop mentoring and internship opportunities between area businesses and students.
